Vitamin C for dog treats

by Denise H.
(CT, U.S.)

Can you estimate the concentration of Vitamin C that would be added to a recipe (i.e. 0.25 tsp. per 2 lbs dough, etc...) for addition as a preservative? Thanks!

Dog treat Icing Expert: Thank you for your question. Vitamin C is used as a mold inhibitor. Use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon per 1 cup of dry ingredients.
