Pumpkin dog treats

I want to make pumpkin dog treats. Can I use the pumpkin pie filling like I would if I were to make a pie? Also can I use cinnamon for dogs?

Pumpkin dog treats

The difference between pumpkin pie filling and canned pumpkin is the sugar content. The pie filling has added sugar, the canned pumpkin does not. Most bakers of dog treats will recommend the canned pumpkin unless you want to really make treats from scratch and use a fresh pumpkin. Dogs do not need the added sugar to enjoy a dog biscuit. They have a very keen sense of smell and can pick up the ingredients from afar! They don't necessarily need sweetness to enjoy a dessert.
