White chocolate and dogs
by: Dog Treat Icing Expert

Dog Treat Icing Expert:

White chocolate does not have the theobromines present in traditional brown chocolate that are the real danger for dogs. For that reason you may hear some people say that white chocolate is not "real chocolate." I agree in principle because white chocolate is traditionally made only from cocoa butter, sugar, milk solids and salt.

However, it is very important to know all of the ingredients that are in the actual product you are considering. You want to be sure to avoid caffeine and any theobromines. This also means you want to avoid coffee products for similar reasons.

As always, I suggest that you check with your vet when considering any products you plan to feed to your dog. This will confirm that you are not feeding him/her any product that s/he shouldn't have.
