Difference between frosting and icing for dogs
by: Dog Treat Icing Expert

Thank you for your question!

The terms "frosting" and "icing" are used interchangeably to talk about decorating cakes and cookies. They do have different consistencies.

Magifrost dog cake frosting is thicker in consistency and lends itself better for spreading on a dog cake, or for piping decorations.

Magifrost dog treat icing flows better and bakers like to use it for dipping or flooding an area of the dog treat with color.

Both products will dry hard and will not melt in heat. The frosting will dry with a matte finish, while the dog treat icing will dry shiny and glossy looking. Refrigeration is not needed.
