Coating chips will melt
by: Dog Treat Icing Expert

Hi Natasha.

This is a common question we receive. You are not doing anything wrong. Coating chips consist mainly of fat and sugar. When cooled, the fat solidifies. When warmed up, it melts. That's why you have to heat the chips up to use them for spreading as an icing. Florida is warm and humid so it is no wonder the icing is melting. We recommend Magifrost dog treat icing which is specially formulated to stay hard and not melt in the heat.
