Chocolate for dogs?

by Jenna D.
(Raleigh)

Please tell me it's true. My friend's sister had a birthday party for her labradoodle and served the dog a big piece of what looked like chocolate cake. I asked her if the dog can eat chocolate and she said don't worry it's safe. Is it really chocolate if they put it in a dog cake? The cake was very nicely decorated and in the shape of a bone so I don't think it was a cake she got from a regular bakery.

Dog chocolate

It could be that what you saw was a carob flavored dog cake. Carob is a popular dog treat flavor. It looks like chocolate but it is not. Carob is dog friendly and dog safe.
