Dogs and chocolate
by: Dog Treat Icing Expert

The answer is NO. Chocolate is made from the cacao bean which contains a substance called theobromine. Dogs cannot tolerate theobromine which is similar in chemical structure to caffeine. Giving a dog chocolate is like giving him an overdose of caffeine. The darker the chocolate, the more theobromine is in it.

Use natural carob to simulate the look of chocolate in your cupcakes.
